Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
How do I create my first tournament?
Click "Create New Tournament" from the home screen. Enter a tournament name and date, then you'll be taken to your dashboard where you can add tables, players, and competitions.
Is TournamyFlow free to use?
Yes! The app is free to use with local storage. Cloud sync features require an account.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. TournamyFlow works fully offline. Data is stored in your browser's local storage. You can optionally sync to cloud when connected.
Tournament Formats
What competition formats are supported?
We support: Knockout (with optional consolation), Round Robin, Group + Knockout, Group Banded Knockout, and Group Banded Group formats. All work for singles and doubles.
How does seeding work?
Set seed values when adding players to a competition. The bracket generator places seeded players appropriately to avoid early meetings.
What happens with uneven player counts?
BYEs are automatically inserted for non-power-of-2 player counts. Matches with BYEs auto-finish with the non-BYE player progressing.
Scheduling
How does the scheduler prevent conflicts?
The smart scheduler automatically detects when a player is already in an active match in ANY competition, blocking conflicting matches until the player is free.
Can I manually assign matches to tables?
Yes. You can manually assign from the Schedule Queue or use bulk assignment to assign all ready matches at once.
What do the match statuses mean?
PENDING (waiting for slots), READY (can be scheduled), BLOCKED (player conflict), SCHEDULED (assigned to table), ACTIVE (in progress), FINISHED (completed).
Data & Sync
Where is my data stored?
By default, data is stored in your browser's local storage. With cloud sync enabled, data is backed up to secure Supabase servers.
Can I share my tournament?
Yes. Cloud-synced tournaments can be shared via a read-only public link that spectators can view without logging in.
What if I clear my browser data?
Local-only tournaments will be lost. We recommend enabling cloud sync for important tournaments.
